What to be understood under Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga came out with different variations within the last decades. The main reason for this is the different western culture where Yoga became more and more popular. There are numerous different methods to practice it, but i want to mention the best known ones: Viniyoga is 1 mothod developed by Shri Krishnamacharya and expanded by his son TKV Desikachar whose school is located in Madras (India). The developers of Viniyoga can be seen as the fundamental founder of the Hatha Yoga practiced nowadays. The aim of Viniyoga is focused on actions after practicing Yoga. You shouldn't just do static trainings. It is much more than that. The aim is always to focus on the different abilities each individual student has. One main aspect about it can be the breathing technique. The breathing techiques require a special position.
Iyengar developed an additional variation of Hatha-Yoga, which is known as Iyengar Yoga. It has gained excellent recognition. This style is characterized by precise movements using numerous aids for instance cushions, benches, blocks of wood, ropes and even sand bags. Iyengar has trained thousands of teachers. The "Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute", which was founded in 1974 and is dedicated to his late wife Ramamaniis located in Pune (India).
Ashtanga Yoga is just one more well known kind of Hatha Yoga developed by Pattabhi Jois.. This variation of Yoga is also properly recognized in the western culture and it attracts many to visit the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in India. He was 1 of probably the most important students of Shri Krishnamacharya, who apparently encouraged him to teach Ashtanga (or power yoga) known movements.
Ashtanga yoga is by far the sportiest version of hatha yoga. Power Yoga has a lot of fundamental actions coming from the definition of the eightfold path of Patanjali. An additional good known variation is the Kripalu Yoga which build up on a three stage plan. It specifically satisfies the needs of Western yoga students. First you need to concentrate on particular breathing and teaching methods. You don't need to exeed the time for the exercises. In the second stage following the exercise of the different positions there shall also be meditation. The meditation will take a longer time then the techiques you use in the initial stage. At the end you have to accomplish your meditation on the go.
